Our master watchmakers are skilled in the art of bringing the most sophisticated complications to life using historical craftsmanship methods. Our passionate artists master and perpetuate these techniques that are as demanding as our customers in order to create truly unique pieces.
The nobility of handmade craftsmanship is found in each engraving of our timepieces. Micro-sculptures such as bas-relief, in the round, and cameo are some of our specialties because they are entirely customizable, making our pieces highly unique.
This decorative engraving technique consists in creating straight lines or curves on a dial. At Kerbedanz, our artisans perpetuate this technique that has existed since 1876. Its execution relies on the well-controlled movements of the most experienced guillocheurs, with the help of a legendary tool of watchmaking excellence: a guilloché machine. While some see it as a simple detail, others see it as the expression of a sublime finish.
An art that is now so rare that it has become unique. Kerbedanz continues to heat the enamel to very high temperatures in order to obtain magnificent colors. Using a brush or quill pen, our artisans apply their mixtures to the base metal, usually gold, before putting it in the kiln. They repeat this operation as many times as necessary, depending on the desired colors. This meticulous work meets our highest standards.
Developed by one of our master enamelers, this original technique derives its uniqueness from the composition of the colored powders that make it possible to obtain dazzlingly bright colors. After a long preparation, the colors become unalterable, providing visual emotions close to grand feu enamel.
